FOR THE BOLD
Come and join us at Stubbers Adventure Centre (Upminster) on 3rd July 2021 for a day of fantastic challenges, great food and a chance to hear about heroes who knew what it meant to be truly Dauntless.
Dauntless will be fully COVID secure, supervised by expert instructors from Stubbers and be a fantastic chance for children from age 5-9 and young people from age 10-17 to have a brilliant day out with some fun and engaging input along the way.
Children will need to be dropped at Stubbers by 9am (if you need help with transport, tick the appropriate box when you register and we will link you up with a car share or one our minibuses pick ups) and will be ready for collection by 6pm.
Through the day, children and young people will be split into 'bubbles' of up to ten (and we'll make sure everyone has at least one friend in their group!) each with their own instructor and RBF team member/volunteer and they will experience a full program of Stubbers Adventure activities including getting up on the towers for climbing/abseiling or high ropes, and into the water for kayaking or canoeing.
There will also be mini challenges to complete while waiting for their turn on activities and at the end of the day all the groups will come together (while social distancing) for a BBQ, a chance to hear about some truly dauntless followers of God from history, pray, celebrate the children and young people who have been dauntless through the day with some prizes, then head home.
RBF has been involved in delivering services to families throughout all lockdown periods, including caring for keyworker children, detached work with young people on the streets and much more. As such, we are well practised at running COVID Secure activities and you can be certain we and the staff of Stubbers Adventure Centre will do our utmost to comply with all guidance and best practice, including:
Practising social distancing wherever possible;
Regular handwashing/sanitising throughout the day;
Enhanced cleaning procedures;
Keeping activities outdoors where space/weather permits.
We would remind all parents/carers that if their child, anyone in the child's household or social bubble develops any of the COVID19 symptoms they must not attend the provision and must inform RBF of the results of their COVID19 test.
In the event that a child has to self-isolate due to a positive COVID19 diagnosis or under instructions from NHS Track & Trace, no refunds will be available unless we can fill the space with a child from our waiting list. In the event that NHS Track & Trace/Public Health inform us that Dauntless cannot run, refunds will be made available to all participants.
Children & Young People
Children aged 5-17 can take part in the Dauntless Adventure Day for £45 each. This includes the full day of activities and dinner (everyone should bring their own packed lunch as they'll be eating outside inbetween sessions). We will have a limited number of minibus places to get children to/from Dauntless from locations in Waltham Forest, Epping Forest and Sawbridgeworth for an additional cost of £15 per child - please indicate on your booking form if you would like to access one of these places on your registration form, otherwise parents/carers should drop off to Stubbers at 9am and collect at 6pm.
We are happy to accomodate parents/carers who would like to come along and watch their children take part at a cost of £5 per adult (this includes the BBQ). If you are attending as a carer of a child who has additional needs or a disability there will be not cost.
The RBF trustees have made a limited number of 'Foundation Places' available at Dauntless allowing us to offer reduced rates in certain circumstances in order that as many families as possible no matter what their financial background are able to access our provision. If you would like to apply for a Foundation place, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Non RBF Affiliated Groups
RBF are more than happy to welcome other children's and youth groups to join us for the day in line with a similar pricing structure as the above - under 17's for £45, supervising adults for £5 - if you would like to discuss this opportunity with us, please contact email@example.com and our team will be pleased to help you take part.
RBF is a Christian organisation and our activities are of course open to children and families of all faiths and those with no particular beliefs. Dauntless is a faith based event where we will be sharing Bible stories, praying and talking about Christian beliefs. In our entire time operating as a charity we have never had a complaint from a parent/carer about a faith based element in our activities and we are proud to have had families from every major world faith as well as atheists and humanists take part in what we do through the years.
If you would like to discuss this aspect of our Dauntless further, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
